Stannah's new bottom drive Microlift for Pizza Express
The first installation of Stannah’s brand new bottom drive Microlift is playing an important part in the recent refurbishment of Pizza Express in Barnstaple, Devon. Easier to maintain and requiring less headroom than a top drive model, this 2-stop, 50 kg dumbwaiter is bringing fast, efficient delivery of food and associated items between the ground-floor kitchen and 1st-floor restaurant in this former pub dating back to the early 1400's.

However you write it, the term ‘dumbwaiter’ is a persistent one.
At Stannah we call our product the Microlift and describe it as a ‘service’ lift, avoiding the term dumbwaiter as it sounds rather derogatory in these ‘pc’ days. We have even received complaints from time to time about the terminology.
